Guest komarme
I took a supra out for a test drive last night. Drove it quite hard for about 5/10 mins and it pulled real hard. My question is when we parked up and left the engine running there was the noise of a fan cutting in about every 2 mins and running for 20 secs or so. Didn't think anything of it at the time but is this normal? Being overly paranoid what are the symptoms of a head gasket being gone?
Daston
The main fan is engine driven so is on all the time so it may be either an aftermarket electronic fan or if it is an auto (think they got a separate fan for the transmission fluid but not sure)

Guest komarme
I did have it on but turned it off after a while, as I was checking that it and the heater worked.
lust2luv
I was thinking AC too. If you were fiddling with the controls, the AC can kick back in without touching the AC button, so you may have turned it back on without noticing?
