Golddigga
Guys, It appears that I am about to get my hands on my first Supe!! It is a non-turbo 1995 manual with 85,000 miles on the clock. The car is in lovely condition but the owner is not sure whether or not the cambelt has been changed. He has had it for about the last 9,000 miles but does not know if the previous owner had the belt changed - although he is going to try and find out. 2 questions - 1 - does anybody have any idea how much a new cambelt (incl. fitting!) would cost? 2 - Is it true that the engine is a 'non-interference engine' which apparently means that if the cambelt snaps then the engine isn't instantly fooked? Any help please guys!!
Ian W
1 - iirc it's about £250 for a cambelt change. 2 - it is indeed a non-interference engine although i would rather not test it out on my own car just for the sake of not replacing the belt.
