ECK Posted October 8, 2006 Share Posted October 8, 2006 hi driving along at my usual 70 or so! i hear a loud thud and battery light came on immediatley pull over to find what the problem was? low and behold the rubber in the front pulley slit and off it came ! luckly there seems to be no other damage. is this a common problem? what is the best part to replace with? and where can i get em? the only one i can find is on envys web site for £850 quid!!!! the car is a 95 N/A! any help would be greatfully appreciated alex Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Kevin Huntley Posted October 8, 2006 Share Posted October 8, 2006 Yeah, seen a few go with age, mainly on the Turbo models. Best bet is to get a second hand one from a scrap yard. From memory the new ones are a couple of hundred pounds. You could fit an aftermarket version but its not really worth it unless you are running big power. supRo Posted October 8, 2006 Share Posted October 8, 2006 There was a thread recently - It's a wear and tear item that you need to keep an eye on if it' getting on a bit - You are lucky that it hasn't damaged anything else!
