Hotel recomendation

Has anyone on here had any first hand experience or can soundly recommend a fairly posh hotel or b&b in the Buxton area of Derbyshire?

Just want somewhere to stay a couple of nights where the supra will be off the road (that'll make a change then) and I wont worry about it, and that will be a bit posh-ish.

Any help much appreciated people :)

What about the Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield - it's about a 20 minute drive away from Buxton?

Never noticed that Palace when I've been up there but it looks mega - going to have to make a note of that for taking a bird away :D

Buxton is a shithole, if you want a nice hotel try mottram hall or shrigley hall both close to macclesfield then you can drive the cat and fiddle road to buxton about 12 miles, or manchester about 20 miles away the lowry hotel, very nice

Try the Palace Hotel. I've been told it's pretty nice! What you doing in Buxton?

Tried the Palace Hotel, and its all booked up mate. Going to a cousins wedding reception at the Old Hall Hotel. Would stay there but the rooms look a bit dated and the car parking situation is less than ideal apparently.

Just checked out Ringwood Hall and I like it. Sounds like good value for money and pretty easy to get to.

Bromy, is Buxton really that bad?
