Try SIDC for something a little more adult. Also point him towards the Essex Scooby Crew - they are a lot more mature than the name makes out plus they do a lot of events, and some good charity work. I used to post on there when I once considered a Scooby, totally different atmosphere to over here. You appreciate the members in this club a lot moe after slumming it over on Scoobynet.
