letmeshowyou
Pulling away from the petrol pump tonight I noticed that the steering felt unusually heavy. After a few seconds this went back to normal. I've now also got the problem that the drivers window has dropped a centimetre or so, and won't go back up again. When the switch is pressed it makes a buzzing noice, but no movement of the window. The switch on the drivers door won't operate the passenger window either. I thought it could be a fuse problem, but the passenger door switch will operate the passenger window with no problems. My current theory is that I shut the door too hard in the petrol station, and dislodged a wire somewhere - I'm bit puzzled why this would affect the steering though (which btw has also been heavy every time I start the car for a few seconds) - has anyone else got any ideas? Is it possible the window mechanism is just knackered?
letmeshowyou
ignore the steering part - I think this is a red herring. I've had the door card off this morning and everything looks normal! I can hold the window up, but it doesnt want to stay up. I'm well puzzled! letmeshowyou
I've managed to eliminate the motor and mechanism, as with the door card off and a batter connected directly to the window motor I can get the window to go up and down.... which means... it's either the switch, or a wiring problem. Anyone know what circuit the windows are fused on?
