Soonto_HAS_soop
What do people do with the VSV wiring when going single? do you just bridge them or leave them out of the way, or maybe even chop them off and make sure that they don't bridge or earth out? Matt Harwood
Chop 'em off Suprising how much crap you can remove when going single.

Chop em off and seperate them, or chop em off and bridge them? And yes I have a garage floor full of bits of dirty great heavy metal lumps
Wez
I cable tied mine in the engine bay as you can reuse the outputs for other functions within the AEM
JustGav
Hmmm, I always thought cut them off as well.... However, and I'm not 100% sure if this is a VVTi thing, but I read a thread a while back saying to use resistors..now it could be because the VVTi ECU expects a load or feedback... I'll see if I can find it again.

JustGav
Hmmm, found it, it was as I thought, it is only for the VVTi... http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/obd2_code_eliminator_after_removing_vsvs/index.html
Soonto_HAS_soop
Nice one, thanks for that, due to not being OBDII I can get away with just chopping...
Matt Harwood
I've cut my ones off. No bridging, no resistors, just cut off. I also cut off the ones on a VVTi with no problems to date... Although it was only the rear ones on the VVTi that were cut off. I didn't want loads of extra plugs cluttering things up. If you're likely to go AEM, I can see why you'd want to keep them, but I bet they'll never exit where you want them too!

Just cut off plugs and keep them if you were considering an AEM, I'm not. And being an auto electrician Mr Mole, I would expect you to be able to extend them to fit any location!
