Conrad
Bought me a Plasma from the Comet clearence centre few weeks back (refurbed stock/cosmetic damaged etc). I only got the TV, remote and instructions but no wall plate to mount onto wall. Is this something you normally get with the TV or something you buy yourself? Anyone bought one recently? They seem quite pricey.
Digsy
They are VERY pricey. I made mine myself for about a tenner, but then again I had the time and access to the tools to do a proper job. Plus my mounting solution was very simple. My screen is held flat to the wall so the loading is all downwards. If you want your screen to stand out from the wall or swivel and tilt, then you will start to get considerable loads trying to pull the bracket out of the wall. Its far simpler to buy one, but ecpect to pay north of £100 for a decent one.

Conrad
Did you guys use normal wall plugs or something more substantial to mount the bracket? I've seen this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WALL-MOUNT-TV-BRACKET-32-63-LCD-PLASMA-TV_W0QQitemZ170019174120QQihZ007QQcategoryZ48656QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This a bit naff you think? Digsy
I used normal No10 screws (about 2" long) in normal brown Rawlplugs. I used 8 to support a 42" screen. If you are cantilevering the screen off the wall by an appreciable distance then you may want something more structural. I was never considering anything like that. Honest...
ivan
These things are heavy. I know you can wall mount them and have seen plenty that are. I used to work in a video place that specialised in them FFS. But I still wouldn't like to trust my DIY skills with £2000 of my own money. Mines on a sturdy TV cabinet. But after 2 years it's managed to bend that...
supra sam
I used to work for Comet funnily enough and will be again in a month or so , you’re lucky you got the remote and instructions usually there they just get lost. I know some of the plasmas used to come with mounting brackets Phillips I think, but they were fairly crap! A decent mounting bracket that you can tilt (AVF if I remember) was close to £200 last time I checked.
terawua
I have just done an install for my mate... a decent plasma braket is something like Vogels, which you can get in John Lewis for between 150 and 200 quid dpending on the model. This will come with all the fixing materials you need, then you just need a drill and a spanner. I would make sure that the fixings are substantial though... I too used rawlbolts on my firts install, overkill maybe, but they made sure that it didnt move. Good luck
