Fuel Pulsation Device

or dampener, well i think thats what it is called :)

Does this cause a restriction in the fuel system at all?

And is it really needed?

Just thinking as at the moment i have the Inlet side totally stripped down so could remove now if required.

I will be going single by the end of the year and i have seen the bypass devices which take these out of the fuel system.

Is it worth removing it or just leave it there?

If it perished it could theoretically be a restriction under full load.

It is meant to prolong the life of injectors/fuel pump, not sure how effective it is though. People have ran for years without it, go figure.

I'd replace it and keep it in, why add another layer of risk...

The fuel pulsation damper is the single largest restriction in a stock Supra TT fuel system. That is based on USA testing with our stock 550cc injectors. I can not say for a fact if it is the biggest restriction in non-USA-spec Supras, but I can say for sure it is one of the biggest restrictions.

Anyone wanting high BPU power or a single turbo without a proper fuel system should go around this line with the stainless steel braided bypass line. Especially those going to single turbo, VERY important!

Kind regards,

Dusty

Matt, you've seen hoses and fittings of both UK and JSpecs haven't you?

Could it be that the pulsation device is more of a restriction on one compared to the other?

I don't think that mine has been disturbed since birth, and mileage is rather high. Fuel pump ain't a spring chicken either. Still, it produces more fuel than I need.

Don't know how it would be with the needs of a big single, but judging from my airflow and AFRs the UKSpec setup would be fine with around 550bhp at least.
