Whitesupraboy2
couple of options ive used before when doing this on screws, Use a a Junior hacksaw and cut a line through the head of the screw and then get the biggest flathead in there thats possible. Or drill it out. Someone may have a better tip for where that screw is.

silvershark44
Yeah i cant get any special tools to do it as its too late on a sunday now. I was thinking about the hacksaw option, but i think it would be imposiible to get a blade the screw head considering where it is damn it im halfway through the job and completely stuck! terawua
Dont know how the coil packs would react to this, but can you try an impact driver?
silvershark44
yeah i would rather avoid that if nessesary, i still cant actually see how im gunna get them out today:search:
terawua
then I would just drill it.. I think the thread is 6mm, so II would drill 5mm and then use mole grips to try to get the rest out, either that or drill 4.8mm (I htink thats the tapping hole for 6mm taps) down into the head and then re-tap the hole. An easy fix if you have a set of taps and dies of course.
silvershark44
well ive worked out that i dont actually need to remove these screws as i cant just take the coil packs out in pairs as they are held in by 10mm bolts. the thing is i then have to replace the two hoses that cross the plugs and i dont have them. mine look too brittle to remove without damaging them
terawua
yes they are brittle and will break... cant you just get some petrol resistant hose from halfords for not a lot as you will only need a foot
fredm
When you say you have "threaded one of the screws" am I right in thinking you have damaged one of the cross point screws that hold the coil to the mounting bracket? If so don't worry, just undo the two 10mm set screws that hold the coil mounting bracket to the head and remove the coils two at a time. With the two coils mounted on the bracket in your hand (rather than on the engine) it will be far easier to get the damaged cross point screw out. fredm
I thought you would figure it out for yourself.
silvershark44
yeah i was rushing and didnt realise, makes much more sense, im still annoyed i threaded the screws though, even though i will never actually have to remove them. that kinda then annoys me lol
