wez_p
I know alot of you bought the PSPs when Nic had his great deal on but anyone tried the DS? I was deciding on which of the two to go for to take away on hols & ended up going for the DS lite since it washalf the price i wanted to try Mario Kart & the new Super Mario Bros after spending so much of my youth on the earlier versions! i wasn't really fussed about playing movies & MP3s on it IMO, they are completely different machines. the PSP seems to be more something that's portable but the games that i would play are ones that would be so much better on a console in your front room with a big screen & some surround sound. The DS is just brilliant for picking up & playing some quality arcade/puzzle style action & then putting down again. And, i am so impressed with the wi-fi capabilities. Being able to play against others across the globe if you have access to a wi-fi connection is quite cool, but peer to peer wi-fi against your mates is just fantastic. Especially, when you don't always need to each own the game & it just downloads the bits it needs to everyone who doesn't own it! After showing the guys at work, there's now 4 of us who play head to head Mario Kart at lunchtimes! Quality.
Ulrik
Iv had the Nintendo DS. Not the light one, the big one But i sold it, and bought a PSP. Now i can do everything on my psp. Play all Nes/Snes/GBA games. Read books. Alot of stuff can be done with the right software Sure the DS was fun with the pen and touch screen dont get me wrong. But you can do so much more with the psp. Just buy 4gb hard drive and 2x battery and you are set to go. Just my thought
Mike
I've had a PSP for a while (cheers Nic!).. and am still loving it! but we're going on holiday with eight of my mates and all the lads are getting DS's for the wifi thing, so they can do Mario Kart etc. really considering getting one... but the PSP is so good! wish they'd got PSP's... multiplayer GTA is so much fun! I do fancy a bit of 'Trauma Centre' and 'Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney' though.. they look like some interesting games... Nintendo are certainly leading the pack in game innovation I think... I wonder what this Wii thing will bring to the party? ..actually Nic (if you see this?) what kind of price can you get DS's for?
wez_p
nice one Ulrik i'd have both if i had money to burn but i think for what i'd use it for the DS suits me better, not to take anything away from how good the PSP is. It's just the games i would want for it i'd rather play on my PS2 or Xbox with the big screen if you know what i mean. i'm waiting to see what these are like when they come out http://www.ds-x.com yes Mike, i think Nintendo are keeping there future secure by keeping the prices so low too in comparison. If you've got the cash spare or maybe a little room on a credit card then the DS Lite has to be purchased, even if it's just for wireless head to head Mario Kart!!! (although, you can only have 8 in a multi player race so one of you will have to sit out anyway if it's you & 8 others!)
