Can anyone give me any advice on what else i need to keep the car (uk spec) in as reliable a state as possible? Ive got my decat exhaust sorted, 255 walbro pump, and a k and n replacement element too. But i need to know what plugs to go for (believe they need to be colder and with a 0.8mm gap), and if i need a fuel cut defencer? Also any important things left to source?Any advice would be well appreciated ta, dont want to do anything silly now!

to get full benefit of BPU on a UK spec you will need a boost controller too. Then you can raise the boost to 1.3bar. A walbro pump isnt any better than the uk spec pump either. When i was BPU i used NGK BCPR7ES which are copper core at around £2 each. these plugs nreed replacing every few thousand miles though.

wow 1.3 bar, thought the max was 1.2, but im not complaining if your running a t78 on the same motor! ngk bcpr7es sounds promising. Gutted ive wasted the money on the walbro, but i might send it back yet! is the boost controller instead of the boost ring in the exhaust?

whos running a T78? Mines a GT72DBB:D 1.2 bar is max on jspecs. the UK spec has steel turbos which are stronger and can handle more boost. You do not need a restrictor ring. Restrictor rings are for jspec only. When decatting a UK spec you will be lucky to see a 0.1bar raise in boost pressure so you need a boost controller to raise it to the desired boost level. How many miles are on the existing fuel pump? if its got alot you may as well put the walbro in as you have already bought it.

so is the 72 the mm of the impeller wheel in your single? How big is the standard impeller wheels on the two turbos on mine? Theres 116 k on the standard pump, you think its worth replacing? Do i need to look at the big makes such as hks or blitz for a boost controller, just for spares really if i ever need them?

ive got the Blitz sbc-id boost controller and have never had a problem with it. i'd definitely change the pump at that mileage for peace of mind. Possibly worth doing a fuel filter change too.

Found one of the blitz boost controllers on ebay, does she sit in the din pal and occupy half of it? Power meter i-d in the other half? its up for £259 plus a tenner postage, good price? Fuel filter change it is then. Thanks Lee
