supRo
Since yesterday I've been having misfiring - wasn't too bad yesterday but worst today. It's happening intermittently on idle and off and on boost load. During the misfiring the FSE fuel pressure regulator doesn't go past 28 psi when i press the throttle. Is the problem indicative of a dodgy FSE fuel regulator? I'm gonna have the stock one put back on tomorrow but wandering if it could be something else as the error code suggests something to do with ignition but could it be the misfiring setting off the error code? Cheers, Ro
Alex
I'd say get it out and try a stocker...
supRo
This morning I set out very early (5am!) to get to Phoenix. Planned on going on the back of an AA truck but they told me that it will take alot of time. I decided to drive her......Had no problem whatsoever, drove perfect from Hampshire to Watford. Must be a temprature thing. My FSE is bolted on the back of the Inlet manifold and it was getting very hot (especially with the ambient temp) so the fuel must have been evaporating too quick. I'm currently having a Aeromotive FPR fitted...away from the engine! Fingers crossed. Thanks for the reply Alex. Ro
Alex
Does sounds like a fault brought on by heat... Lets hope the Aeromotive sorts it out
supRo
New Aeromotive FPR and it's still happening - Seems to be on boost only now. Error code 14 still. These are the things I will have checked out: Sparkplugs (Currently Denso Irridiums, 3 months old) Coil pack connectors (1 clip case is broken from before) Coil packs Igniter pack ECU connectors - Someone had code 14 because of loose ecu loom connectors. Anything else? Thanks, Ro
Alex
Error Code 14 = Ignition Signal http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13920&d=1112558346 Have you checked all your wiring...especially anything tapped into the Ignition line?? EDIT - miss read your post earlier...just to confirm the coils and connectors etc will be tested but haven't yet been tested.
supRo
Thanks Alex, will get those items checked and yes will re-check coil packs and connectors Cheers, Ro
supRo
Combination of FSE fuel regulator getting too hot and a dodgy Igniter pack! Got an aeromotive FPR bolted to the inner wing and a new Igniter pack. Thanks to Alex, Terry S and the boys at Phoenix
