cylinder head gasket help!!!

Hi,

Can anybody help me. I bought a few months ago a 1995 twin turbo RZ and every weekend I check the oil, water etc. Over the last few weeks occasionally I have been getting small white splodges on my engine oil filer cap inside. Normally I would say that this was a sign of emulsification, i.e. coolant is mixing with the oil(very bad thing). I have been checking the coolant level and it has not gone down any, that I can tell with a visual inspection. Is this a sign that the cylinder head gasket is starting to blow or something is wrong with the oil etc? Can anybody help? is there a sure way of checking if the cylinder head gasket is blown etc?

cheers

i,de say this is just moisture condensing on the filler cap, they all do it in the winter months especially where short journeys are concerned take it for a good thrash and it will go, your worrying to much, if its using no coolant or oil theres nowt wrong

Hi there... I would say in my experience. If your head gasket had gone, you would either have lost enough water to tell by now, or you would see water tipping out of the top up bottle overflow. The head gasket went on my wifes old Shogun 3.0 V6 and it had only a very slight leak. But you could always tell in a few days that the water level had gone down. If you get really paranoid about it, take it to a garage and they put a chemcal into the water system which changes colour if there is a leak.

Sounds ok to me though... Fingers crossed for ya.!
