Guest goodoldgrandad
I haven't a clue as I'm told different things by different people. I've seen fresh 1998 TT imports being sold by dealers in the UK in the last few months, but people tell me "it's impossible" to do. Maybe the Supra Club can make a definitive guide and publication - otherwise if people can't get hold of the cars the club will eventually die and people like me will get fed up and buy an alternative vehicle instead!! The authorities won't be specific, but some clever importers seem to have found a loop hole - unless they are bringing in newish none turbo versions and then fitting in the UK the TT (which I doubt). MKIVDreamer
AFAIK The best rule to work from has already been mentioned. If its UK registered and has a current MOT certificate it should be fine.
Guest goodoldgrandad
Yes - but that does not bring in any newer vehicles to the UK (which is what I want to do). All that is happening is we circulate the stock here, so age and quality is going down hill (until I guess they get become "classic cars"). There's no guarantee that the Japanese are looking after their '97 on Supras any better, than those of us in the UK. In fact it could be argued that buying one from a club member (read enthusiast) may be a better be than a new import of unknown history. How much are you looking to pay for the right car?
