hi all just got my first supra two months ago, its a 1994 mk4 n/a jap import. however the clutch has gone for a burton, went to the garage and they told me it has to be a high performance clutch because the jap imports have a higher bhp than the uk spec. is this true or can a uk spec clutch be fitted.

D'OH!!

I knew that! Can't believe I forgot that no NA's where never on sale here! ARGH!

Back to the point though, it is the mentality of people over here to get rather confused with imports, only this morning I had a run in with my local Toyota Dealer who tried to tell me that they only ever use 75W/90 (or something) in all of the gearboxes that they do, and it is not possible to get 1 litre tins of v160 oil. Again I had to find the part number and phone them back to make them look very stupid indeed!!:D :D

Ben..

:D strange isn't it, one simple word IMPORT and all the garage bods go all weak at the knees. The local scumbaru dealership still wont touch imports. What a crazy world, we should be able to buy a car from where ever we like and not get all this shite.

But what do I car, mines UK :p :D

thanks guys, i tried telling the guy that all imports were n/a, but like you say he is an idiot. anyway on the way home from him it started doing some serious slipping, just managing to push 20mph down the dule (is that how you spell that) carrageway and coasted through the gates. the AA are picking it up in the morning to take it to a guy who knows his stuff, hopefully.

happy new year anyway.
