Nick
I've been looking on the Boostlogic page and I see that their base kit is $3550 and you have the option of different sized turbines and housing. There's also the option of an ITS dual ball bearing turbo for $4999 which is an upgrade to their base kit. Am I reading it right!?!? 2k for a FULL turbo kit and an additional 2.8k for an upgrade?!? That must be some upgrade, doesn't list any parts so I'm assuming it's just the turbine...??
Tannhauser
I read it as meaning that you can buy two versions of their turbo kit: The basic version with a choice of T57, T58, T61, or T67 Precision Turbo, which will cost you $3550 or The upgraded version with the dual ball bearing T61 for $4999. I don't think it can mean that they supply you with an uprated turbo for an existing kit. As you say, it would seem rather a lot. They may be precision turbos, but it's not precision description. Nick
I agree, this has to be the case, doesn't make any sense otherwise. Here's the quote "ITS Turbos available as an upgrade to our base kit!! We can now provide ITS turbos as an upgrade to our turbo kits. The Dual Ball Bearing T61 to T67 upgrade is priced at $4999." I've sent them a mail asking a couple of questions so I'll see what they say. I hadn't heard of ITS until reading the page, time for a look around Supraforums for info.... Guest Terry S
Dual Ball bearing turbo's are very expensive, that is the reason for the difference. I have yet to see conclusive proof they are worth the £££.
Nick
I'm looking forward to that Dude, may even have to come down so you can show me what it'll do... The polished manifold does look very nice, especially if you want to use it as a show car, rather have it thermal wrapped myself....
Adam W
Is it still the case that the ball bearing turbos can't be rebuilt? I've never heard any doubts on there reliability but just if the worst should happen. As Terry says, they are a lot more expensive - unless you already have all the bells and whistles that money could probably be spent on better things.
