Whitesupraboy2
Its in the NA design to rev to 1800rpm to 2000rpm when cold, although when warm mine drops to 800 -1000rpm depending on how its feeling that day
lust2luv
Mine revs to 2000 in winter, but not at this time of year. And, if you're leaving it a long while and it's not dropping below 1200, there's definitely something up. Should be around 7-800 when warm. Whitesupraboy2
try an ECU reset and see if it relearns idle correctly. Do this by pulling the 2 EFI fuses from under the bonnet fuse box

Lebsteif
Topic kick, I have the same problem. when i start the engine it goes to 2000~1800 rpm - when it starts to get warm it goes down to 1200~1000 rpm. When the engine is cold and i do an ECU reset it will do the same when i start it and when it gets warm it stays between 1000~900 rpm. When the engine is hot and i reset the ECU and start the car it goes for a few seconds to 1400 rpm and drops down to 700 rpm and the car works fine, until i stop the car and start it again when the engine is cold. Also what is very annoying is the fact that when i start the car (cold) and it idle's at 1200rpm i start to drive the car it gets ugly. When i shift the rpm goes down (normal) but it stays at 1400 rpm! so driving the car in this state is terrible and sometimes it idles at 1400 rpm when i stand in front of a traffic light. it feels crap! i replaced a couple of vacuum lines (not all yet) so the problem can still be a vacuumline. Any other parts that could cause this problem? i hate my Supra atm when its doing things like this

supRo
I believe that the RPM should be lower than what all of you have stated above. I had a problem on the NA engine (lexus GS300). Turned out to be a vacuum leak on the gasket inbetween the throttle body and Intake manifold. THAT GASKET IS SUPPOSE TO BE REPLACED EVERYTIME YOU DO A SPARKPLUG CHANGE! I also had an exhaust leak which I patched up (This may have contributed to the high idle too). Idle is now sweet and similar to my TT. Under 1500 revs for cold and under 1000 for hot. Check your throttle cable hasn't been too tightened too, to mask misfiring/idle problems: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=82371
