UK headlight questions.

Is the rubber trim which goes around the headlight outer edge attatched by some sort of glue? Mine has come away on the underside of the headlight and I would like to repair it. Also in order to do this properly I am thinking of taking the unit out, I have used the search feature and have found the info on relevant bolts to remove it, but could someone give me some info as to how the various electrical connections come apart, I'm sure it's fairly straight forward but being less than lucky with anything like this I'd rather hear from someone who has done this.

It's bonded on somehow but I didn't take too much notice of it when I swapped mine out, I took a few photos too but none of the underside of the lamp unit. I suspect a decent glue that bonds rubber and plastics will do the trick.

The pics of the bulb fittings might be of use to you though, most are just a simple twist and pull, a couple of the connector plugs were a real PITA to get off though - the clips were very tight.

Yeah the clips can be tight, I changed my grubby jap lights for UK glass ones and had real trouble getting one of the bloody clips off until I found sliding a screw driver down it to unhook it helped loads :-)

I did take out my factory fitted air box out to help get at the other light though that helped loads.

but from what i remember I think glue holds it on could be wrong though :D

I am about to reseal mine and was worried about bonding the glass back without some fresh sealant.

Bloke at a local windscreen fitting company gave me a tube of black "Texflex" sealant which they use for bonding the glass back.

Maybe call a few local companies in your area and see if they can hook you up with some.
