randy
Wez, what made you switch to the AEM from stock ECU? If you are still on stock turbo and fuel...
Wez
I have a nice medium sized single turbo sitting here on my floor waiting to be installed. I also do not like piggy back electronics as you are fooling one peice of hardware into doing something it was not ment too, i know different people have different views on this but that is mine. My supra is my daily driver (approx 90 miles a day to work and back) and I have had the AEM installed now for approx four months and its fine aslong as you get it mapped properly. Tannhauser
Just seen this thread.... Terry, I will definitely be getting the complete e-manage system, but I've got to watch the money at present. It will be going on at the same time as walbro pump, UK injectors and some fiercer hybrids. Got distracted by the possibility of a single, but I don't think it's for me at present. The three hours mapping time is Pete's guesstimate. IIRC, I asked Nic (on the BBS) how long it took to map his on the dyno...he said three hours and Pete said this sounded about right. The emanage seems a bit of an unknown quantity...perhaps DaveS could comment on mapping time? As for US users hating it, I'm not so sure. Opinion seems divided. Some people can't get on with it, but I think there are some issues with the US/UK MAF sensor(???). Mohd seemed to think a MAP sensor is more directly compatible with the emanage. But I'm out of my depth here, so I could well be mistaken. Regards, Cliff
Dave S
I didnt complete the install of the egt and O2 sensor in the MKIII 1JZ ...I then bought the MKIV and removed everything.....and now I'm up to my elbows in pistons and rods etc.....so it'll be a while before it goes back in.....but it did seem to do what it said on the tin...if it turns out as good as Mohd 's I'll be very happy!!
