Car has just had a the dump valve turned into a re-curculating one.

How ever the pipe that runs from that to the throttle body has melted due to it being left too close to the turbo.

The car is running well when on WOT but when i lift of the fueling get V. Rich and stays there for a few seconds before dropping off. Because on still having the MAF it used to go rich for approx 1 sec now its about 3!

I now need to some how replace this pipe and hope that the car will run ok with the re-circulating dump on due the the idle screw having to be changed just so she would idle! Lesson, get car sorted earlier next time...if only it was possilbe eh!

Pic of the pipe to follow in a sec!

P.S the tape on it is to try to solve the air leak to see if it would make any difference.

The dump valve sounded like it used to in 1st boost but back to the way it sounded the other day after that. (when i have blow a vacume pipe from the back of the throttle body!

On the plus side. I measures time on a vid that i got, it only take 7 seconds to get from 50mph to 120lph :p

If you see this in the morning and are able to help or know anything about what the pipe does, please let me know. Cheers Jon

Isn't the recircualted gas going to your idle control valve? Isn't that not going to work anyway? Perhaps it's just T'd into the air supply line, but I can't see it? Even if it is, when your above a certain rpm the solenoid would have parked itself at around 60 odd %. Can't remember if that's pretty much closed as far as the actual valve goes or if it's wide open. Either way, if it isn't T'd then you'll not be getting much idle air through there being sucked through the DV at idle.

??

where the pipe joins onto your intake manifold, by the looks of it, that is your idle air control valve. cut the pipe near to the intake manifold (IACV)and put some sort of filter on it and then i see no reason why you just cant do away with the rest of the pipe from the BOV altogether

EDIT, forget that idea i keep forgetting you're still running MAF and you'll be losing metered airflow

Hence the reason for the F*ing pipe lol!

Anyone know where i can get a nice piece of pipe to fit???

Have you still got the metal hard pipe clipped to the rear of the cylinder head? when your car was stock the hose used to come off the intake manifold (IACV)with rubber hose, join up to this hard pipe and then back to rubber again into the intake. if that hardpipe is still in place, you should have enough rubber hose there to cut up and rejoin it using the hard pipe

havent got a clue what a recirc BOV should sound like

F.A.O Mig

So basically i need to remove the re-circulating dump from the system and plum the pipe back in between the maf and the turbo? The pipe is now fucked, its melted so has a bit of an air leak and its not as large as it used to be!
