Robert
it will be MAF, try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner or replace it.

i-macca
It's the electronic gadget that sits behind your air filter, meters the air going in to the engine. Sometimes they get clogged up and don't meter the air properly. Sometimes you can get away with cleaning them but sometimes they have to be replaced. If you look directly behind your airbox/air filter you'll see a little black box with some wires going in to it, thats the MAF.
Ray
MAF stands for Mass Airflow Sensor iirc incase you wanted to know...
_Rob_
IIRC any BOV on a UK auto can cause it to stall. doesnt the MAF compensate for the stock recirc by putting in extra fuel, expecting more air to come back into the cylinders, only to find it has been blown off to the atmosphere. then ending up with overfueling all of a sudden and causing the car to cut out. mine does this and ive put it down to the above... i-macca
The MAF doesn't compensate for anything, it just fuels for what it sees going past it, but the atmospheric dump valve lets this air out of the system. So the ECU puts in the fuel it needs for the amount of air that should be there but only the fuel goes in to the cylinder causing the rich condition and the possible stall. wkdtime
MAF stands for Mass Airflow Sensor iirc incase you wanted to know... I think Mr Ray its called the Mass Air FLow Meter, not a sensor like the jap map.
SupraJames
If your MAF is knackered and need a new one give me a shout, I have one sitting on my desk all cleaned up and looking like new.
