CJ
I have one of these that has been chipped to work on the Vodafone network. I am now changing to T-Mobile and have accepted a free version of this phone. My old phone is going to my son and my question is, how do I transfer the contacts from the old phone to the new one?
Jake
Start > Programs > Sim Manager Save all your contacts to the Sim Card before swapping it to the new phone
CJ
Start > Programs > Sim Manager I do that and it transfers all the data from my sim to my memory (doesn't it:blink: ?). What i need, is a way of transferring the contacts from this Vodafone enabled XDA to a T- Mobile enabled XDA when it arives next week. I thought it might be possible to connect to my PC via the USB cable and transfer them onto the desktop to then transfer from there to the new machine next week. Alas, I cannot find the contacts location on the XDA.
CJ
I am assuming that if I tried to transfer from the Vodafone SIM to the T-mobile phone it will not recognise the SIM?
Jake
I just looked on my XDA2. It looks like you can backup your contacts to the storage card (and from there to PC or whatever) using xBackup in the Programs folder - does yours have xBackup installed? CJ
I just checked the programs folder and also did a search for xbackup and it is not installed.
Jake
If there's no backup software on the device as standard you will need a third party one. This one is good : http://www.sunnysoft.com/en_clanek.php?clanekid=51 and will work ok for free for 14 days.
CJ
Thanks Jake. I will wait until my new phone arrives next week and transfer them then.
Jake
What contract (How much £/month?) do you have to take out to get a Mini S for free?
CJ
I signed up to the Flext 50 here which costs £50 per month but gives you a heck of an allowance that carries over when not used.
