francis
Hi there Well installed my Defi boost gauge today and very happy with it (photos to follow). I've been bombing around today and during the day the most I managed to get was 0.8bar. This evening the most I managed to get flat out was 0.9bar. Just wondering whether this is normal for a UK TT6 fully decatted (but with restrictor ring) & new SMIC. Cheers, Francis
Lucifer
YOu dont need a restricor ring with a UK spec, the wastegate is larger. .9 is just fine. Get a boost controller
Kopite
You're just on stock boost there
francis
The boys at Phoenix recommended the restrictor ring, I guess this may be holding it back, but on the other hand it might be wiser to keep it in to go easy on the turbos... I guess the question is, does the restrictor ring mean it's only performing as it would with the cats in, if so then I may as well put them back in! Kopite
Usually on the UK the wastegate means that the boost doesn't rise above stock. Can't see the restrictor ring doing anything if you're still getting 0.8-9 bar?
Seb
No need for a restrictor ring on a UK as people have said - with no cats and the boost controller off, my old Supra would only hit maybe 1bar. You had to use the boost controller to go above that.
bignum
my uk6 was hitting fuel cut with cats out, only in fourth tho, so after i fitted a new smic i then fitted a thor fuel cut thingy and a manual boost controller (bleed valve) with colder plugs and run at 1.1 bar, the difference in speed is phenominal, prob new clutch next then.
