flukey-lukey Posted April 24, 2006 Share Posted April 24, 2006 A very experience mechanic has just been taking a look under my bonnet and felt the return pipe to the radiator and said there was pressure in it as it was 'hard'. Got me worried because he said this could be due to the head on its way out or a crack in the head etc!? The car drives fine, pulls very well and the temp gauge sits at a fraction under the halfway mark all the time, do I have reason to be worried or is he trying to set himself up for billing me a heafty repair bill? advice please regards, Luke Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or it might just have done what most of the pipes on mine seem to have doneover the years, and gone hard and fragile rather than squidgy and wubbewy. chilli Posted April 24, 2006 Share Posted April 24, 2006 bubbles in the rad / expansion is the obvious tell tale sign isn't it? also creamy oil, loosing water over time.... either way, hardly likely to be a 'cracked' head, head gasket at the worst but sounds like your car is fine!
