Many thanks to Lucifer A1 guy, who has lent me a set of alloys (and very nice they are too) while my wheels are away for refurb...

Appreciated Martin :thanks:

PS Those guys look like they do some good work Mart. Had a set of Ferrari wheels there that looked like new and their other stuff was excellent. And they do it all in-house, i.e. no sending your wheels somewhere else to have say diamond cutting done and then charging you a premium....:)

Hemel Hemstead Gareth....worth the trip there on price alone. Other quotes I got were double what they charge and it is not a sideline for them it is all they do..

I already tried a local "come to your door" merchant. Sent him down the road halfway through the second wheel. Bloody awful!....

I pick the wheels up next Wednesday, I'll take pics and give an honest report on how they turn out..

Name that company. .

I don't feel comfortable doing that until I know they are up to scratch.

If my wheels are done OK I'll let you all know next week....

Is it OK to name them on here? I don't want to tread on any of the traders toes..

Can't see it being a problem, I think only one other trader (Envy) offer a wheel refurb service and Gaz is a reasonable bloke. Its not like you're trying to take business away from him, but hemel is a bit closer than the North east for me!

OK

Picked the wheels up today...very impressed.

Not only had they doen a great job on the wheels, but they had refitted the tyres, new valves and balanced them to boot. All for $49 per wheel. One place I called wanted £45 PER WHEEL just to polish the rims!!! Would've been over 100 quid per wheel for the same job....

These were not pretty wheels when I took them in. All the rims were oxidised and a bit battered and there were pits in the alloy spokes and the centers. They've done a damn good job.

You'll find these guys here, speak to Phil if you can get hold of him:

Here are a few pics. The colour choice was mine (I have a black car). Originally they were silver grey with polished/shiny rim.

I had the colour changed to black spokes and centers with a diamond cut rim.

My cheapo camera doesn't do them justice though, they look a bit grey in the pics. These are as they came out of the workshop, I haven't even dusted them off yet. The white marks on the second pic are from the camera flash which went off without me giving it permission!:
