On my way to Scotland

OK, leaving the house in a few minutes to drive all the way to Dumfries!

Never driven that far north before. Hopefully I wont break down, or get any major problems.

Anyway, if anyone sees me, give me the salute! lol

If anyone reads this in the next few minutes what do you reckon to my route? M27, M3, A34, M40, M42 (toll), M6. A74, A75

Tell me about it. I drove a hire car from Glasgow to Inverness a few times and several times I was in a row of traffic because of a lorry, and I had cars trying to overtake with cars coming the other way about 200m away!!

One guy did that then pulled in front of me (inches from my bumper) & slammed the brakes on nearly forcing me off the road. Had the cheek to give me 'rude' hand gestures as well!!

Luckily for me, I knew there were two sets of road works, where we would be stopping for at least one of them. He shat himself when I pulled up behind him & ran up to his window. He wasn't so tough then.

What's the term for someone who thinks they're hard in their car? You know, like Keyboard Warrior for a geek who sits at their desk posting abusive stuff to people?

The term is 'you never know'

Most probably it will be some pathetic excuse for a human being.

But it might also be a nutter with a gun --- as I found out aaaages ago while 'confronting' a fellow motorist who swerved for no reason and nearly threw me off my bike.

(echoes of "you feel lucky punk?" )

I've cooled down ever since and am less keen to jump out (exposing myself) and confront people I know nothing about.

Eaaaaaasy does it.:sly:

dont want to be a racist (lol) , but its not the mad scots you have to watch out for ( they all live south of the border ). Its the mad Irish lorry drivers coming off the ferry at Stranraer - they dont know which side of the road to drive on - so they they choose whichever takes their fancy.

Yep them as well. I not saying all scots are mad drivers at all I would just say it is one of the scary roads. When I go up to the highlands in the summer its the other way round English drivers who think they can drive the scottish highlands like Colin McRae and end up in the ditches

Too right, they're a bunch of idiots! I overtook one one night then got into Crocketford (a 30mph zone) and he flew past me at 50+mph!! Dick. The stretch of the A75 around Annan is the worst bit.

Well said - I think it takes more balls to let it go than risk being arrested or even hurt. However, I recently confronted someone on a roundabout - the red mist!
