Who here has got the wide-band O2 sensor?

How much are they?

Who makes wide-band O2 sensors?

Does the wide-band O2 sensor replace the stock 02 Sensor?

Finally, who can supply wide-band O2 sensors?

I want one, nuff said! Cheers :D :p

I have one. My set up was in the region of £1500, but there are much cheaper ones. They are great for tuning, and yes I have replaced the stock o2 sensor but I have a different ECU. The difference in o2 kits by the way seems to be speed. The cheaper ones react slower, but are fine for 90% of purposes.

The FJO Wideband O2 Sensor kit looks quite nice and it costs around $500 not sure if you need to pay extra the sensor as well though

Just thought I would let you guys know that when i installed mine I got the sensor adapter plate which enables you to mount the wideband in the stock location on the downpipe, if you still have cats it puts the sensor before them for true reading.

You can get these from Chris Wilson and its easy enough to do by accessing it from the top.

Oh yeah the AEM gauge looks very similar to the FJO but is the controller as well.

Thats what i intend to do, when my new turbos arrive from Japan, i'll be sorting my supra out with stage one mods and sorting myself out with a few defi gauges from miamirice, just thought it'd be nice to know the AFR while i progress further with mods

You cant :baa: but personally I just think that the AFR gauge with the wideband 02 sensor would be good to have along with the EGT gauge to give you a better idea whats going on,

Afterall the wideband o2 sensor is a better indicator and it will tell you exactly how rich or lean you are running, where as the EGT will only give you an idea of whats going on. Should you wish to alter the AFR then of course you'll need a controller.

egt probe will only ever tell u how hot the exhaust gasses r, not how rich or lean. wbo2 will only ever tell u the afr. they both give u very different info. both invaluable tuning tools and safety tools, when getting near the edge.

Its fact that the richer your engine, the cooler your Exhaust gas temperature will be, and as the engine starts to run leaner, exhaust gas temperature will rise.. the EGT gauge can be used as a good indicator for other things as well, but the problem with the EGT sensor, it will not tell you what ratio you are running at.

this is why you need a wideband o2 sensor, because the stock o2 sensor is crap

The wideband o2 sensor is very useful for those who want to tune and get the most out of your modifications on the supra without going to a dyno. however if you want to tune the supra's ATF ratio you will need an ATF controller.

its also a fact that the more ignition advance u have the cooler yr exhaust temp.

ignition retard will also cause hotter exhaust temps.

so looking at yr egt gauge, tell me why yr temps r rocketing?

yes, all it can do is indicate that yr temps r too hot or too cold, it will not tell u why they r too hot or cold, u could guess i suppose.
