Ian W
right guys, need some help. it's my gf's birthday soon and she wants an mp3 player to hold most of our music on. i have an ipod but find the short battery life a pain. what would you recommend with a minimum of 6gb of space and not over £200? ta much
edd_t
I prefer the iPods, much easier to use. But have a friend with a Sony NWA1000 and she says the battery on it last for ages...
Ian W
yeah, much prefer ipods myself as they're just so simple to use but i think she'd like something with a longer battery life.....
edd_t
i've heard the ipod shuffle has a much longer battery life than the mini and nano... the sony is sposed to have about 35hours playback.
Ian W
yeah, the sony seems to be in pole position at the moment. the ipod shuffle sucks though to be honest. just not enough functionality.

RedM
The Sony gadget doesn't play MP3s though, does it? You have to convert them to its own format I think or have they rectified that?
Ian W
think they've rectified that mate, will have to check though.

JamesG
I had a Sony 1Gb flash walkman where the battery lasted for 50 hours, but the supplied software was so bad as to render it unusable. You can't even use alternative software. Get the new 30Gb iPod. They are only 190 quid on Amazon.
Ian W
so i've heard JamesG, but i thought they'd sorted out the software issues with the sony units? may just give her my ipod and i'll get a new one then lol
