SkyJawa
Just started the car and the power steering seems more vocal in the car and in the engine bay than before. As you turn the wheel there is a real whine to it, open the bonnet and listen to the pump as the wheel is turned and its really quite a loud whine. The fluid looks to be at the right level - pump on the way out? Or could it just be because the car was cold and not warmed up? Looks a bastard of a job if it is the pump......... Steve W
it wasn't just the 'early-cold-morning' belt whine ? ? more of a 'bearing-ie' sort of whine ? ? we've been inundated wiv "My car's makin' a funny noise" calls this week ! ! ! - 90% just anc' belt noise (HOPE yours is Neil) FatS. SkyJawa
No mate it isn't as it only occurs when you move the wheel and thus the pump is needed to be activated Might be coldness, but not done it before that I know of, have to see what its like when hot. Couple that with my drivers side electric window motor that sounds like its dying too grrrrrrrrrrrr
Rob
Tis probably just the belt that needs replacing, it'll start whining more as time goes by. Eventually all the time Dead easy job to do it yourself.
