Tricky-Ricky
Can anyone tell me at what sort of BHP does the std jap spec fuel pump run out of puff? and what sort of millage do the start to get tired?
hadyn
I dont think standard Supra pumps fail like S14s Ricky. I think a standard Supra fuel pump running standard power would have a lifespan in excess of 100k miles no problems...
Suprasteve
i was strongly advised to upgrade my pump when i went BPU, 327 rwbhp (aprox 395 fwbhp). my jap spec is on an M plate with about 70k miles. I should imagine the stock pump should last forever on standard bhp.

hadyn
How about BHP hadyn? will the pump of puff at about 80 BHP above std to? like the s14? Yes slightly, but not as bad as an S14 stock fuel pump. As a 200sx veteran, i uprated my fuel pump and plugs, before I started to play with the boost

JohnA
Ricky, it would be nice if you had your car type in the signature so we know the context of any questions you have. If yours is UKSpec then the fuel pump is much better.

francis
On this topic, I am thinking of replacing my fuel pump solely on the basis of its age (12 years + 106k miles UK-spec), the Toyota pump is coming out at around £200 from Mr Manley, but the Walbro can be had for around 80 - which should I go for? Is the Walbro a lot noisier than stock? Cheers, Francis
Steve
Go for the Walbro mate. Dont think anyone has complained about the Walbro being any noisier than the stock one.
letmeshowyou
it IS much noisier, and not as good a replacement as the stock UK one. All depends what budget you're working to...
