Have you weighed yours?

I have finalised the weight of the car now so I will do it shortly.

I have removed the stock traction control, that saved about 10kgs.

I also replaced the stock speakers and boxes with lightweight dual mags which saved about 3kgs.

Does anyone know the weight of the stock front mount?

10, 13 20 kgs saved , what does that = in hp , im keeping all me toys and running 100 shot nos or turning boost up a bit , had all this on the bikes , my mates honda owed £18,000 with all the light bits , joke was HE weighed 18 stone and was a good 2 stone overweight , you work it out , if you wanna go LIGHT rip out the whole interior and all the glass except the screen , this will make a difference , do you think 20 kgs will make any difference at all in ie 1/4 mile , come to pod in oct and fed ex willing i'll show you what makes a difference :p

what date you all off to pod?

its intresting to see where weight can be saved. rear seats are no use but would leave a nasty hole in carpet. would like to get a good time with rear seats in to compare against other stock turbo supras. i dont run with a space saver in mine. you can tell the difference when you have passengers and you trying to show them what cars like. when you on your own it feels quick.

if you replacing an item like stock intercooler for a fmic it will add a bit of weight, so its swings and roundabouts. probably traction will be a big issue unless you runnig DR`s

know a couple of people with astra 2liter turbos who run with stripped out interiors and one mate has nos on his. but its a fwd

its a TROPICAL CANISTER its a sort of canister for my nos kit it turns my 150 shot into 220 shot by increasing the flow and heat settings on the 30 pound bottle, sort of like optimize the flow and reduce friction in the intake swirl pot chamber.

if its too big a job will get supraman on it

BTW a battery is a battery as long as it starts car its good enough for me, big chunky ones look nicer. seen some with tiny batterys off motorcycles

Who said anything about 1/4 mile times Dude

The handling of a car should improve with less weight, especially removing weight from a nose of a front engine car.

Gavin, is it difficult to remove the stock TC ?

Funny how Toyota made a wank system that weighs 10 Kilos and the RaceLogic masterpeice weighs next to nothing !

There are instructions for removing the stock UK/US TC on http://www.mkiv.com.

The UK/US TC uses pumps and actuators to control rear braking as well as cutting power, look at the tech article you will see its a big bit of junk.

I would imagine that there is no real benefit to removing the J-spec TC
