Alloy Refurb

Recommended Posts

hi,

today i did a very stupid thing and put my alloy down on the driveway metal side down. the moment it hit i started crying and picked it up to reveal marks on my newly refurb'd once perfect alloy.

its superficial powder coat chip marking that shouldnt require too much effort - any ideas as to how to fix this up?

thanks,

D

hi dshox

re wavy bag end, what i did was basically a process of elimination. the rear wheel had a bit of a knock from the previous owner, nothing too bad nor visible - looked like minor kerbing marks. anyway - thought i'll fit the space-saver and drove it for a few miles with different camber and surfaces etc -----no more side to side to side jiggy - car drives true and straight!!!.

so - to get to your query re refub - i've dropped off the wheel at premier wheels (ickenham turn-off on m40, harvil road, harefield - tel 01895259100, ask for chris) to straighten the lip from the knock. i'll test the wheel today and let you know. however - they may also be able to help you with your wheel.

good stuff. picked up the wheel from them today and will test it tommorrow to see if it was the wheel causing the waviness at the rear - will let you know how things work out.

cheers.
