Ark
Hello All, Been getting a funny with my facelift side lights ('97 car). Probably a loose connection, because a bit of percusive maintenance make the light come back on...May now be a blown bulb 'coz no amount of percusion or wire-wiggling is providing illumination. Question: How best to get the bulb out, coz it's behind the OEM airbox, so I can't get from the top, and I can't get in from the bottom, because I only have one elbow per arm and can't get an angle... I'm guessing it's a standard jap slot type bulb, in a holder that screws into place, but can't feel anything to get hold of to twist it out... Thanks for any pointers! merckx
Are you're talking about the indicator on the side of the car , if so then you've got to remove the bottom front wheel arch liner. It is the small push in wedge type bulb. Access to the front indicator is through the air intake. Anticlockwise to remove both.
Ark
Thanks, but this is the white section of the front-facing face-lift indicator/sidelight combo...
merckx
Haha, I've edited it above. Very easy access, just reach in below the indicator.
Ark
Ta - i'll try to be more forceful with it then. Probably just need a firm, manly grip!
Ark
Well I got the bulb holder out, and the bulb was blown...one new bulb, and intermittent connection. Looks like I'm going to need to break out the soldering iron!
