Sensor in first cat (and de-cat pipe)

I’ve had a search around but the answers to my questions are still a little still unclear. I have a j-spec TT and was wondering what the sensor attached to the first cat (the one that bolts straight to the turbos) is for. Is it a temperature sensor or an oxygen sensor? This brings me to my second question, what should I do with this sensor when replacing the first cat with a de-cat pipe. I get the impression (from search results) that it normally gets tied up out the way? Is this wise or should I mount it back inside the de-cat pipe.

Thanks,

Richard

Cat Temp Probe.

No Cat no need for it - but cutting it off would probably result in a sensor fault.

Tire it out of the way.

The other probe in the downpipe is the O2 sensor (closer to the turbo's) This must stay in.
