Newbie99 Posted August 11, 2003 Share Posted August 11, 2003 Hi there, Jim here, hope you don't mind a newbie asking such a big question early on but........... Basically I have just got my 95 TT 6 speed manual registered and on the road. Fairly young engine at 60K miles. Now basically I want to get her to 500 BHP on the Sequential setup, obviously new hybrids but what else. The work will be done by myself and my local mechanic!!! As a nice big learning curve for both of us!!! Obviously I will need to shell out for a rolling road and tuning session but we want to do all the dirty stuff :-) What I need from you guys is a detailed list of parts and suppliers to accomplish such a task. I have a good idea of the route I want to take with part but have no idea of where to obtain such parts. Im talking about getting them from the people that build the parts to cut out the middle man charge. So any recommendations or parts numbers or anything u can muster would be excellent, and who ever dose me proud will be sent a beer token. lol. Cheers. Jim. Newbie99 Posted August 11, 2003 Author Share Posted August 11, 2003 Terry, I have had a good dig around on the site already, I found allot of good info regarding what route to take but I haven't found much info on manufactures of parts and where to get them due to lots of the info coming from peeps on here that run there own tuning company's, and who obviously for good reason want to keep there suppliers and names of equipment used to there selves. This is my current stumberling block!!!! Sorry to rush into this, but I have got the bug and will not be able to sleep at night till I have it straight!!!lol. That is why so many people have hybrid turbo cars. Leon ( http://www.jpsmotorsport.com) has struck a deal with a turbo kit supplier that makes singles much more viable. Not sure they are available yet mind. Anyway, as a start you want: FMIC UK/Walbro fuel pump Cams Injectors( These depend on your ultimate goal) Fuel controller ( as above) Decat pipe ( part of a single kit, but extra for stock based turbo's) Good flowing exhaust Then you'll need to address the turbo's Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Im after saucing the parts and also making the mistakes my self!! This in turn will allow me to keep a few more pennies back for fuel and also allow me to learn an awful lot. Wez Posted August 11, 2003 Share Posted August 11, 2003 With regards to hybrids I am not sure how much of a middleman Leon is, he has 3 stages of hybrid available and I think there was even a 4th stage but not 100% sure. From my understanding they are all to JPS motorsport spec and no one else sells them. Adam W Posted August 11, 2003 Share Posted August 11, 2003 You will not be able to find out the details of the guys that supply hybrid turbos to Leon etc. This information is kept under wraps because the tuning companies have put so much cash into R&D developing these turbo solutions, they have to protect that investment and make sure people buy through them in order to get a return. Becauseof all the research that has been done, you will be sure you're getting a product that will work well. You will probably only save 10% on your turbos even if you do buy direct from someone, that's bugger-all compared to the overall cost of your project so you might as well get all the expert advice etc and buy from Leon. Too much agro for them to start with not to mention loyalty to their distributors, who are their bread and butter...
