Fifty
Helloo all I am bit worried or perhaps paranoid lol about this , I noticed today that when going from PARK to drive this is a bit of a clunking noise from the rear. If I do it again its gone. Im not really experienced with autos seems a bit harsh thats all. Car is driving perfectly with O/D manual etc all working fine. Any thoughts or is it just me. ATR fluid level is spot on btw. Fifty
Steve Cargill
Mine has done this a bit recently. It seems to depend on the revs. My normal tickover was about 500 and was smooth. Since the rebuild (could also be summer, more work for the air con to do) it's quite often over 1000. When it's like this there is a clonk from the rear and the car bucks a bit. Fifty
OK Steve thx thats exactly right it does buck a bit. I dont think I left aircon on though and revs seemed low. Strangely if I move leaver really slooowly and nicely its all very smooth. These are really great cars and I love it but must take some deep breaths and stop worrying lol. pulse
Mine's been clunking a little of a morning when I reverse to turn around.. It's only been the past few days, since it's been really hot.. so I've not really thought much about it -p

Digsy
Mine does this too. The first time you shift from P to D all the slack in the drivetrain will be taken up. This explains why it doesn't happen the second time you do it. Mine often does it when changing from D to R and back to D when parking (i.e. reversing the drive direction repeatedly), and it is worse in the mornings when the revs are high and the transmisison oil is cold. FaithStalker
me too, sometimes does it if i'm really eager to get away and the choke is on full in cold weather, or this fine hot weather its been a little more pronounced i've found if you leave it a few mins after cold startup its fine, especially after the choke has settled down. - easier said that done when your about to drive such a fantastic machine! ;-)
