Fuse Box Help

Paul Laing

Recommended Posts

I had to reset my ECU today after i HAD to use normal unleaded to get home from Billing or i would have run out of petrol!!! I allways use Optimax.

Looking in the fuse box i noticed my ABS fuse's wern't there, also my fan fuse, and 1 of my EFI fuse's. Is this ok or have i missread the diagram? Theres a space at the 30a fuse's at the top, and looking at the diagram it looks like theres a fuse in the second EFI slot, and then below in the AMI (i think) slot.

Any help would be great. The car runs perfect, shall i just put some fuses in???

Hope that makes sense

Paul

Possibly the safest way to find out you don't have ABS there, much safer then the way I found out anyway.

Not to sure about the SZ-R, but my SZ doesn't have ABS, and only has the one EFI fuse.

A bit like this...

If you have ABS, you should have a big lump of metal near the brake cylinder with lots of brake pipes going in and out. If you've just got the cylinder, reservoir and servo, then you're on your own in the emergency brake.

I'm afraid not. Bet you don't brake so hard from now on.

Anyway ABS is for girls.

you know when you have ABS and the engines switched off? if you pump the brake up it gets really solid is that right? well mine does this but apparently it hasn't got ABS as i havn't got that metal thing in the picture.

Why does the brake go hard then when you kep pressing it??

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

When you start the engine, the vacuum from the inlet manifold builds up vacuum via a non return valve in the servo, helping you to brake with less effort.

When you shut the engine off, the vacuum stops, when you repeatedly pump the pedal you deplete the stored vacuum, once its all gone there is no longer any Servo Assistance thus making the pedal hard
