Charlotte
Has anyone seen this? Am going later and have heard mixed reviews....need to see it though this is my favourite book in the series.
Todd
Not a fan of the films but this is indeed the best out of the films to date. Thing that gets me about Harry Potter is that he's supposed to be this great young wizard but he always seems to be getting his ass kicked and everyone around him is better at magic than him

Thing that gets me about Harry Potter is that he's supposed to be this great young wizard but he always seems to be getting his ass kicked and everyone around him is better at magic than him Arhhh but he is learning, having only just discovered he is a wizard...(or something like that!) The books are proper old school children's escapism though, a lot better than the films.
Todd
I know, was only winding you up Only read one of the books and just couldn't get into it, just felt to much like a kids book..........I know I know, it is a kids book!!! Curious about Narnia, grew up with the books and still love them to this day, wonder what the film will be like........and why did they start with the 3rd book in the series!! The first two books are very basic...its only after goblet of fire that it gets more 'adult' (no sex)... I've heard Narnia has been really 'disneyd' and its 'americans do an english book' type thing....loved Narnia on BBC though...
geoffvalenti
I've seen it. It's light entertainment, not something that you'll think of years later as a life changing experience, but worth seeing nevertheless. It's the whole cinema experience that I enjoy, right from the popcorn and (Ben & Jerry's) ice cream, to the whole surround sound, big screen, night out. Beats the TV hands down IMO

MrRalphMan
A good film, but as always, no where near the book... Although to have everything in the film from the book, it'll have to be about 10 hours long.
China Man
I have watched both and equally good each one as a night out. nothing like star wars but then the budget making the films are different by far. harry potter , much more action then the last couple and much darker which I like as an adult. Narnia, great outdoor pictures but some of the indoor sets are a bit fake since it is the first movie so I guess they spend a lot more time introducing the characters instead of get on with the story line China
SkyJawa
It was rubbish. Not into the books but quite liked the film for the Prisoner of Azkaban, this isn't a patch on that. Theres not enough of the quidditch (sp) world cup. Voldemort is all too easy considering he's supposed to be this big bad guy, the relationships between the characters are nothing like the previous films I just wanted it to finish so I could go home! Theres more I could go on for ages, but won't!
Mike
quite liked the film for the Prisoner of Azkaban, this isn't a patch on that what?! that was probably one of the worst film 'EVER' made.... and this one is worse? jesus...... I think I'll save my cash then...

RedM
Good film although the final challenge in the maze was very dull. AS for Narnia. All that snow and ice and no frosty breath. Oops.
Benzsupra
Thought they done well with the time they had, as i read that Warner Brothers had to keep the length to a maximum of 3 hours. Hope that they bring out extended versions like Lord of the Rings though. I think that you would do well to read the books first though because then the films are like a visual representation. Cor just read my thread through and it makes me sound like a film critic!!!! How sad am i!!!!!!!!!

Lets put it this way - Harry Potter don't do it for me. 1 and 2 were rubbish, 3 for Harry was Ok, this one was cack. Mum and Sis are Harry Potter nuts and they both thought it was cack too! LOL! ie - yep save your cash!!
ivan
Watched it tonight - the missus fell asleep which is a first for a Harry Potter film... Nowhere near as good as the first few IMO. Something got lost. The others were about them all being in school and learning. In TGOF, it's trying to be too grown-up and failing miserably. Ron's two older brothers are very fooking annoying! Aren't all the kids in it just a little to posh and annoying. 'Geeks' might be the word to describe them. If they weren't at Hogwarts they'd be getting a right good rodgering at Eton!!!
