removing / replacing Steering Wheel

Elliot

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend bought me an Isotta Katiena steering wheel for my birthday a few months ago, and a Momo boss. I've been working away a lot of the time & back in Swindon on Monday but thought I might give it a try tomorrow (Sunday).

So...basicly...what's involved? I've done a search, but can't find any info about taking the stock wheel off & fitting an aftermarket one.

To save me starting the job, then giving up after 5 mins as I don't have a clue, can anyone give any advice or suggestions?

Cheers

Elliot

PS I don't have an airbag!

you may want to take a photo of your momo boss kit and post it on here before you go through the effort of taking the steering wheel off and realise it doesnt fit:( i was told that no momo bosses will fit the supra, dont know how true that is

that looks right to me

the oblong hole in boss fits over junction block (pic)

remove screws under steering column, remove front of wheel, remove the large nut on shaft and pull like fuc*.

please note mine did not have airbag so not sure about any precautions or removal of that

Thanks for that. I'm still not sure I 100% know what I'm doing, but I'll dive in tomorrow anyway & see how it goes!

Watch this space :)

it looks like mine but will not argue the point, there are a few threads on here about changing the steeing wheel though

the hole isnt big enough for the connector block and it is in the wrong place. you could modify it but it would be a bodge up. envy supply ones that fit for arond £50 iirc as do whifbitz which are slightly dearer.

btw, i tried the same boss on my car last week just to prove the point

Doesn't sound good :(

I'll check tomorrow anyway I think just to work out about taking the wheel off etc for the future.

I'll be VERY pissed off if/when it does not fit as my girlfriend took the traders good word about buying this from him, whilst he took her good money and she waited a hell of a long time for it as well...
