Character reference.

Mate of mine who has to appear in court next week for driving in excess of 125 mph asked me for a Character reference. Should I write the usual lilly livered lies the magistrates like to hear, or say it as it is?

Just drafted this:

Your most honourable magistrate.

I confirm I have known Anthony for a number of years.During that time he has proven to be a fine upstanding member of the community. Regarding his driving, I have never witnessed him drive in excess of 100 mph (except at Christmas after a few beers). Some people would regard Anthony as a bit of a salad dodging, limp wristed air head, but those who know him (and seen him fighting) would without doubt, not want to upset him.

I also confirm that any rumours about his terrorist links are mostly unfounded.

Well, thats about all from me, hope you and the family are well (and stay well whatever happens).

Kind regards.

Chez.

I had a friend who lost his liscence for 1 month and a fine, not sure how much. He was doing 80in a 40. The short fine was so he could get to college and continue with his education.

always good for a wake up call like this, slows us all down. P.s Love the reference  i know where to turn if i get busted :respekt:

What do you think he will get? (not with this reference!)

121 mph (ford mondeo) has 6 points already, salesman with company car, no mitigating circumstances, will cry at court.

30 days?

or

Ban by points and £500+ fine + costs deoends on the mood of the district judge or lay (muppets) magistrates.
