Parksy
Sadly had to jump start my car today. All went well (used an external battery pack style jumper) to try and eliminate any spikes I have read some people have had probs with jumping car to car. However realised when I pulled the car out the garage that I had the amber (pic of a car and lines out the back) warning light on. ested all the lights and realised that my brake lights are off altogether, so sadly to little jaunt for me this evening. Looked at the fuse box under the bonnet and couln't see a fuse relating to brakes (am hoping it is only a fuse). Looked around the forums here and found there is a fuse box in the drivers side kick panel. Looking at this the only thing I can find remotely to do with brakes is the fuse marked 'STOP' which is 15amp. is this the right one for the brakes? Also is a blown fuse the most liekly cause? Indicators, fog light, side and main lights are all fine, just the brakes off. Any help appreciated.
Parksy
All is well again After doing a load of searches I came accross something I thought worth a try... My rear fog light has ben wired into my back light cluster, as opposed to a box screwed onto or mounted into the bumper. I must have caught the rear fog by mistake and turned it on before I turned the ignition on. After a bit of playing I've worked out that if my rear fog switch is depressed before I start up I get the warning light and no back brake lights. Howerver if the fogs are off, I turn the car over, then switch the back fog light on the fog works fine as does the brake lights... very bizzare, must be the way it has been wired up
