Supralookin
I know your budget is limiting you to finding a decent TT but I'd not rubbish the idea out together, maybe in the future? I made the mistake of opting for an N/A and sold it 4 days later. After driving a 1.8 I was surprised actually how much the N/A did drink fuel especially after some fun hard acceleration. I dunno really, I guess I just felt something was missing with the car. I want the big fat shiny turbos!

tbourner
What's with the name? Do you have a Vanquish? Swap it for my Supe if you like! Welcome anyway, I would try and persuade you to get a TT too but as mentioned I'm a power nut! You could always compromise and get a big single - that's only 1 turbo then! Ark
Hey, woah, the replies are as quick as the cars!! haha Cool, thanks for the welcome. On the purchase bit, i am limited to a budget of max 6k (and thats with trading in my nice 200SX) as i run a 520i as the family car, the Soop is just going to be a nice toy for the run to work and to blatt about in at the weekend. I am looking for an N/A version pref auto with the lowest miles poss. Thats about it. Only started looking today. AMV I've got an NA that I'm toying with trading up. '97 automatic with the targa roof and more history from a specialist than you can shake a very big stick at. (I could probably have bought a whole new car from 5 years worth of costs!) and it's (almost) stock. PM me if you're interested in more details, 'coz I haven't made the definite decision on selling - no adverts out there ATM.
Guest AMVanquishMan
...funny enough i do know a bit about cars (...guess who i work for). Turbo's go pop okay. End of arguement. Still, I'll enjoy my na and remember to steer clear of the Supra club as obviously if it aint got a turbo then it aint good enough around here. So well done people on the criticism of my new Supra BEFORE i have even brought it. (God knows why anyone with an na would want to post in here.) tbourner
Whoa chill no-one's criticising!!! If you get an NA we'll still give the same replies as if you got a TT or a big single or a Celica GT4 (well maybe not so much that last one!), what people are trying to say is that the usual reasons for people to choose an NA over a TT aren't always accurate. MPG isn't that different, well maintained TTs are as reliable as NAs, insurance is often less!! etc. If you want an NA for your own reasons then get one, you'll get no criticism for your choice, just advice from people who've been there and done it! A Supra's still a Supra at the end of the day, we all love them regardless of a few peoples differing opinions. Get one and come to a meet asap! Digsy
I don't think anyone wanted to get off on the wrong foot, dude. If you read my post you'll have noticed that I drive an NA myself and I love every minute of it, as do many others on here, and so will you. Maybe we should set up an N/A club and ditch these turbo losers...?
tbourner
Hey!!! I'm sure a lot of what was said was tongue in cheek anyway, just search for j-spec vs UK spec and auto vs manual to see how 'competetive' we get on this site - all in jest though (well mostly! ). Like I said a Supe's a Supe.
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
i have had both and this is my conclusion for autos and manuals na annd tt serivcing costs= both the same insurance=n/a are more expensive fuel=they are within 3mpg difference between cars (this is in standard form) speed=sorry but the n/a are no match for the tt full stop the worry factor= tt have turbos but they are reliable this is the only downside but they are reliable. and the only reason someone is going to buy an n/a and not the tt its for the folowing reasons and this is in my experience. 1.its a supra 2.they are cheaper to buy this does not mean they cost less to run 3.dont need speed 4.wrongly informed with facts top and bottom of it they are both great cars and are seriously fast and if u can own one great you have a great car wehter n/a or tt. my 2 pence said and i love n/a supras

Daston
I have an N/A J-spec and love it, but some times wish I could afford a TT espesialy when seeing my old mans TVR Griff 500 pulling away like I'm standing, however as I'm 21 I feel full of joy like being 5 at xmas every time the garage opens and I turn the key, I mean lets face it the outside is gorgus who cares whats on the inside!
