Wez
Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with these discs, i have tried searching for dba and dbadiscs and didn`t find anything http://www.dbadiscs.com/ http://www.dbadiscs.com/acatalog/copy_of_3_0_Twin_Turbo.html I am guessing that people are still using standards as a replacement, or are there better options without a complete kit. Guest Martin F
They look very pretty!! Never heard of them before.
Wez
Do look pretty good yeah but was wondering how they performed as they are not overly expensive either. I know the stock ones are ok and are cheap but how long would stock ones last for fast road and track use?
Wez
Does anyone have an old / used UK front disc set. I just spoke with http://www.hispecbigbrakes.co.uk/ and they could make a bell / rotor setup to fit standard UK brake setup but they need a set to work from. Again the price seems pretty resonable at about £160 a side but that would only be first time round as then you would only need to replace the rotor / disc which is about £100. :flame Dev
Roy
wez - i have used DBA slotted/drilled discs (including 5.1 fluid n steel brake line) on a previous car in singapore (it was a toyota corona - carina here but i had put in a supercharged engine from australia). i found them to be quite good quality and performance. mind you - that engine put out just under 200bhp and has nowhere near the supra's performance so i am not sure how it will hold out in a higher powered vehicle. hope this helps. http://www.dba.com.au

So in return for you enabling them to sell potentially a lot of these kits by supplying them with a template what are they offering? I ask the question because I will have a set available soon, but first I've got to find and fix the major oil leak that suddenly occured on Friday, before I put my new discs on. Wez
They are not offering anything even though i did explain that once they are done there could be a few more buyers interested from the supra club I have spoken with them again today and estimate prices are as follows :- BELL = 75 +vat DISC = 94 +vat The disc price is for 324mm 30mm thick with 8 grooves but they can also drill and add more grooves but do not recommend on a car this heavy as it wouldn`t aid in performance of the disc. Once you have payed for the bell the only cost then would be the disc which isn`t that much more than the stock items. I am still looking for a pair of used stock UK spec discs if anyone has some they don`t want.
Steve W
we took 2 off a UK ~3months ago at work... I'll see if they've been thrown out yet tomorrow ? (don't know how worn they were ? they'll probably be a bit rusty by now ?.......tell you tomorrow) FatS.
Adam W
What advantage do you get with bigger discs if you use the same calipers? Come to think of it, how are they going to fit bigger discs within the calipers! Some sort of spacer thingy?
Steve W
I thought the UK discs WERE ~324mm x 30mm anyhow...?? (weren't they 28mm min service limit ?) Isn't it just that they're slotted/grooved ? ? that's supposed to be the 'improvement' thing
