Arsenal striker Thierry Henry returned to first team action midweek in a Champions League game against Sparta Prague. Henry came off the bench to score 2 goals, replacing an injured Jose Antonio Reyes who is doubtful for this weekend's game against Manchester City. Many Fantasy Managers sold Henry when he was injured, but the shrewd ones will have kept money in the bank ready to buy him back. However some Managers may be priced out of buying Henry, who costs 13.8 at the moment, and are looking for suitable, less costly replacements. Many Managers may also have Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard in their team, and with his 7 goals and 3 assists, may not need Henry back in their team. For those Managers looking for an alternative striker, the leading point scorer after 9 Gameweeks, is Lampard's team-mate Didier Drogba. Drogba has 63 points thanks to 5 goals, 8 assists and 7 Actim Bonus points. He also scored against Real Betis in the Champions League, and at a cost of just 10.5 represents a bargain compared to Henry and Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who costs 12.8. Manchester United striker Van Nistelrooy has 59 points and 8 goals from 8 games. He also has 13 Actim Bonus points and could provide a dilemma for those managers who bought Van Nistelrooy to replace Henry, as his current rate of a goal a game is hard to beat.

Drogba Chelsea 10.6 63

van Nistelrooy Man. United 12.8 59

Bent Charlton 9.2 55

Rooney Man. United 11.1 52

Yakubu Middlesbrough 9.5 47

Defoe Tottenham 9.8 45

Cole Man. City 7.8 40

McBride Fulham 6.9 38

Harewood West Ham 6.8 37

Vassell Man. City 7.5 36

Charlton's Darren Bent is also up there in the points table, with 55 points, 7 goals and 11 Actim Bonus points from 8 Gameweeks. Bent represents good value for money and could earn more money for your team, as he costs 9.2 with his value rising by the day. Close behind Bent is Manchester United's Wayne Rooney on 52 points, thanks to 4 goals, 4 assists and 10 Actim Bonus points. Rooney costs 11.1, plays every game and provides a cheaper alternative to Van Nistelrooy. Middlesbrough's Ayegbeni Yakubu is finding some form recently, scoring 5 goals in the last 5 games. Yakubu costs 9.5 and may be worth a shot. Other cheaper alternatives are Manchester City's Andrew Cole, who costs 7.8 and scored 2 last week against West Ham, Tottenham's Hossam Ahmed Mido who costs 7.0 and has scored 2 in the last 2 games, and Fulham's Collins John, who costs just 5.9 and has also scored 2 in the last 2 games.
