jackso11
Anyone ever tried one of these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/45BHP-VariPower-TOYOTA-MR2-Celica-RAV-4-Supra-Yaris_W0QQitemZ8007623971QQcategoryZ32094QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem seems a bit unrealistic to me, anyone had hands on experience? Smudger
Ha ha ha ha - you might as well use a household dimmer switch and two pieces of mains cables. These things are crap beyond all belief - overfuel your engine by using these and cause a lot of damage in the long run...
jackso11
Thats what I thought. Bought a resistor that claimed to do the same to my old car (mk2 1.8 mx5) except it wasn't variable of course. Never fitted it though, seemed like it would just take mpg down. chilli
Out of interest, what is it supposed to do, just allow you to adjust one of the sensor signals (MAP?) so that the ECU thinks there is more air and so it puts more fuel it to compensate? It's not like supra's tend to run lean (thankfully) anyway lol
Pig
Its certianly not going on my car. no expert but seems a bit dogg, although increased air should help????

Smudger
Correct chilli - it breaks one of the signals from engine to ecu and changes it so the ecu thinks it needs to fuel it more and more and more and even some more. Very nasty pieces of kit indeed - anyone needs any electrical / electronic advice just let me know - I know a little about these things
CJ
You can say that again Pig
michael
I have the Spinal Tap special edition, goes up to 11 - you better hold on tight when you crank that baby up! Pointless 'mod', pure snakeoil
jackso11
haha, You get a whole extra '1'. The difference between 10 and 11 must be enormous. By the way....its not going on my car either
TLicense
This kit makes the ECU supply ever so slightly more fuel to the cylinders and slightly advances the ignition. Together this gives you much more power. Ohh so it's like a really cheap piggy back ecu then! Do you recon it'll handle 850's?
