far Posted October 18, 2005 Share Posted October 18, 2005 if you are accepting debit/credt cards online you need to open a merchant account through your bank, you apply for this and they check your account and see if you are eligable - it usually goes to an underwriter. Once this is accepted you need to use someone like protx to authorise payments online. There is a charge for this service which is typically 3-5% on credit cards, I fyou dont put enough cc payments through monthly you get charged 25 quid + per month unless your transactions online equoate to more.
