lust2luv
One of the 3-way speakers of my home Pioneer stereo system has started hissing and making very loud popping noises, occassionally cutting out completely. The other speaker is fine. Stereo is about 10 - 12 years old. Took speaker apart, but couldn't find anything obviously amiss. Anyone got any ideas where I should be looking (pic attached)? Cheers guys

lust2luv
As a resident of Martin's MoneySavingExpert website, you should be ashamed! It's a sweet stereo, the rest of it still works as well as the day I bought it, and it has sentimental value!
michael
I'll just go back to throwing money at my broken washing machine because I refuse to buy a new one
Soonto_HAS_soop
Solder some new OFC wire onto it all. See if that helps, a metre will only be about £2.50. If it still does it, buy some new speakers ya cheap g*t

lust2luv
Okay, so nobody actually has a clue what might be causing this? I wondered if it might be one of the two black large resistor type things? (not too electrically minded) Can't see any obvious shorts in the wires.
