Paul -C-
Ok this may seem a bit of a silly question... All summer I've been having problems hitting 1.2bar, whereas before summer I had no problem. I've had hoses on and off a dozen times trying to find a boost leak, but to no avail. Then it clicked today... Maybe I'm only seeing 0.8 - 1 bar because it's warmer just now. So do you BPU guys see a difference in boost levels when the outside temperature changes? terribleturner
Yeah, temps will decided what your running at. You'll find on a freezing cold day that the boost will go up. The best thing to do is have various setting for different days. I have a just a hot and a cold day setting, but if you can more you can play about. **That's if you have a boost controller**
JohnK
If your using a bleeder valve then its possible if you set it up when it was very cold, say 5c, but 0.4 bar is a lot of difference. If your using an electronic boost controler id say you had a problem.
Paul -C-
I don't have a controller or bleed valve. When I got my decat and exhaust fitted last November I was hitting 1.2 bar without needing anything else...
terribleturner
I'm not 100% on a UK car so not sure if that's right, but you can always get ableed valve or controller if you want to increase the boost on those hot days.

Paul -C-
I think I'll take the car out tonight if it's cold and see if that makes any difference. Then if it does I'll look into getting a controller or bleed valve
terribleturner
He has a j-spec Apoligies, i looked and saw UK in UK Brakes in the sig. I'll get my coat Paul did you get a restrictor ring fitted?
Paul -C-
Paul did you get a restrictor ring fitted?Yeah I got one off Chris Wilson. Well that's a lie, I bought 4, cos the double decat I bought wouldn't meet the catback pipe, so I used the 4 restrictor rings to extend the pipe a little. Paul -C-
I guess it is the weather that's affecting my boost then. I'll need to look into a boost controller, although I guess I can wait till spring now that winter is drawing closer.

terribleturner
Carefull dug, you'll get crucified With a restrictor ring i'm sure you should be seeing under 1.2 bar. Mine without my BC on i'm sure sits at about 14psi which is a shade under 1bar.
Paul -C-
I'm gonna call my insurance company on monday to see what they say about a boost controller. Failing that hopefully winter will bring me back to 1.2 bar! terribleturner, what do you think of your GReddy Profec Boost Controller?
terribleturner
Well it came with car so i left it in. TBH it's fine. It's really easy to use and i don't ever have any problems with it. I'd love a new one but i'll wait till it goes wrong. They can be picked up for a bargain of Ebay and Supraforums.
