GeordieSteve
Does it not create a bootable floppy?
Shovels
When you flash a bios you normally do it in dos mode. At Steve said, you should be able to create a boot disk and then run the flash util from the a drive. If you go to http://www.bootdisk.com/ you can get win95 boot disks, these are much faster loading and don't have loads of extra crap. Create a boot disk, then copy the flash utils to the same disk. If you don't have space on the disk, just use another one and swop when the system has booted. You're proabbaly aware, but, don't loose power when you're flashing the BIOS, it could leave the system shagged!
Guest adi-mkiiisupra
yes, but i cant run a windows executable from dos !! Thats my point.. the only utility to flash an aopen motherboard appears to be a windows based one... i cant find anywhere a dos flash application for the aopen board. GeordieSteve
What happens when you run the app in windows? I'm pretty sure it'll ask you to insert a floppy to create a boot disk
Shovels
Ahh.. I see what your saying now! It looks as though AOpen are doing away with DOS flash utilities and going for Windows based version instead. If you look at this link You should find this is the slightly older DOS version. Not much use if you want to go to the latest version and can't get into Windows!
